Keeping our Families Safe

July 13 Update

We would like to extend our thanks to all the customers we have worked with over the last several weeks. Shawn and I also have tremendous gratitude for your role in helping to keep our family safe. Your considerate adherence to health guidelines directed to us from Dr. Bonnie Henry has made it possible to ensure the health and wellbeing of our community, and our family. 

As we carry on operations mindful of the continued risk from Covid-19 infections, we kindly request your continued compliance with:

  • physical distancing of 2 metres
  • self-isolating after travel or possible exposure to Covid-19
  • postponing appointments if you or someone in your home has cold symptoms

While many of our spring and summer visits are completed by Shawn outside homes, your extra care and caution is greatly appreciated and helps to ensure our family business can continue to offer the trusted service you have come to expect from us.

May 01 Update

April proved to be a challenging time for many BC residents and businesses; we hope you and your family are staying healthy and managing well.

We remain committed to responsible operation of our business during the Covid-19 pandemic. As stated earlier, the nature of our business has always meant Shawn is conscious of what needs to be done to reduce transmission of potentially infectious organisms; gloves, respirators and hygienic measures are routine to how we run our business. Physical distancing rules are enforced at all times during our service visits. To keep everyone as safe as possible, we urge you to let us know if you or someone in your household has cold symptoms, or if you have been asked to self-quarantine after travel or possible exposure to Covid-19.

Now that all four of our school-aged children are learning from home, it is challenging for Lee to maintain regular office hours. Telephone calls are the hardest to manage at this time. For fastest response, please send an email (see below) or use our website to request an appointment.

We are working very hard to keep up with the high demand for Shawn’s expertise and greatly appreciate your patience during these trying times.

March 27 Update

We have been able to confirm that the Government of BC considers our business an essential service. Shawn and Lee are committed to providing the professional service we are known and trusted for. Physical distancing rules apply, and Shawn continues to practice enhanced precautionary measures to keep both your family and ours safe.

We have decided to proceed with interior inspections and treatments / visits on an individual basis. Each request for service and / or previously booked appointment will be reviewed based on our need to ensure government orders related to safe business operation during this time can be adhered to. If we need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, Lee will contact you directly to do so.

We feel that conscientious, responsible operation of our business services during the Covid-19 pandemic is a priority.  We will continue to monitor advice from health experts and will update you regularly on any impact or changes to our business.

Please, if you or someone in your household has cold symptoms or if you have been asked to self-quarantine after travel or possible exposure to Covid-19 it is crucial that you let us know. As always, your health and safety are important to us; we need to work together to keep each other and our community protected.

March 23 Update

One of our children has symptoms of a common cold, but out of an abundance of caution Shawn and Lee have made the tough choice to suspend services. Upon returning, please be advised that the only jobs we will be scheduling are those which can be completed OUTSIDE, without the need to enter the living quarters of your home or place of employment.

The nature of our business has always meant that Shawn is conscious of what needs to be done to reduce transmission of potentially infectious organisms; gloves, respirators and hygienic measures are routine to how we run our business. However, with the spread of Covid-19, there is an enhanced need to be prudent and we continue to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our family and yours.

What We Are Doing

In our office, Lee is the designated person checking the Public Health Agency of Canada website daily to review the latest information on the spread of the virus and recommendations to employers and the general public. She trusts that the best and most up-to-date information will come from public health officers, and not social media, conventional news outlets or politicians. Information from the World Health Organization and the CDC is also being monitored.

In the field, Shawn is refraining from handshakes and other forms of physical contact as part of our role in social distancing. When arriving to complete service he will be wearing a new pair of disposable gloves, these will be disposed of when leaving your home. Shawn also has access to sanitation and hand washing supplies, including disinfecting sprays and wipes.

Please, if you are showing symptoms or are self-isolating it is crucial that you let us know so together we can limit any possible exposure. Call or email Lee in our office if you need to reschedule your appointment.
